It’s only week three of #Miles4Radiotherapy 2025 and everyone is going for it!
- An amazing 24,602 miles have been completed – that’s 15% of the 160,000 total we are aiming for.
- More than £2,000 has been raised in sponsorship money, which will help us start Phase 2 of our Patients and Families information hub.
- Our challenge has inspired a beautiful poem, written by cancer advocate Jon Organ (see below).
Our target this year is 160,000 miles – a mile for each course of radiotherapy delivered in the UK every, single year. Invite a friend to join the challenge and let’s support UK cancer patients together. See you in Week Four!
And if anyone in your team deserves a shout out for their efforts, we’d love to hear from you.
With thanks to our sponsors: Xiel, Oncology Imaging Systems, Amethyst Radiotherapy and media partners Rad Chat!
Jon's poem: Miles4Radiotherapy
We lace our shoes, the morning calls,
Fletcher’s ready, no time to stall.
With wagging tail and gentle cheer.
We walk for those we hold most dear.
Each step a symbol, soft but strong,
For those who’ve faced the fight so long.
We’re walking hope through sun and rain,
For healing, trust, relief from pain.
Through coastal winds and fields of gold,
Their stories whispered, brave and bold.
We carry them with every pace,
Their courage etched in time and place.
This isn’t just a summer quest,
I’s love in motion, at its best.
For the steps we pound in dignity,
We give our strength so others see.
That no one fights this fight alone,
That even steps can build a home,
Of trusted care, of guiding light,
For every patient in their fight.
So onwards go, with paw and hand,
Across the hills, the sea, the sand.
Together, Fletcher, hope and me
Walking miles 4 Radiotherapy.
