We are delighted to announce that Amethyst Radiotherapy has joined our Miles4Radiotherapy 2025 challenge as an event partner.
The Amethyst Radiotherapy team is all set to support this year’s annual fundraiser in aid of our charity’s patient information work.
Sasha Burns, CEO of UK Operations for Amethyst Radiotherapy, said:
“We’re proud to support the Miles4Radiotherapy campaign. Radiotherapy is vital to cancer care, yet access remains uneven across the UK. This initiative by Radiotherapy UK highlights the need for change — and we’re committed to helping more patients get the treatment they deserve.
“It’s our chance to keep supporting the quality patient information work of the charity, a cause that sits at the heart of our own ethos.”
Miles4Radiotherapy 2025
This year’s Miles4Radiotherapy challenge starts on July 1 and runs for two months. Anyone impacted by cancer can create a team or individual challenge and clock up the miles for sponsorship.
Participants can choose how they move: walking, running, scooting, wheeling, sailing, horse-riding, and boxing are just some of the choices from previous years. Everyone who signs up will get a welcome pack, challenge merchandise, and exclusive access to the Race At Your Pace App.
This year the challenge aims to bring the radiotherapy community together to complete 160,000 miles over two months. Every mile represents a radiotherapy treatment course delivered in the UK by our highly skilled workforce and the many thousands of UK cancer patients seeking trusted, empowering information to help them navigate cancer.
Together, we hope to raise awareness, show solidarity, and fundraise to create more trusted PIF TICK accredited radiotherapy information for every adult UK cancer patient who needs it.

Sarah Quinlan MBE, director of Radiotherapy UK, said: “In 2023 we worked with the Amethyst Radiotherapy UK team to create a series of patient videos about Gamma Knife treatment for brain tumours. Those videos have now been viewed many thousands of times, showing there is so much we can do to help patients as they go through cancer treatment. The right information, made accessible, can help reduce anxiety and support people to feel empowered once more.”
Amethyst Radiotherapy delivers Stereotactic Radiosurgery on behalf of University College London Hospital, NHS Trust at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, the oldest standalone Neurosciences Hospital; and has been consistently rated one of the Top Three Specialist Centres of Excellence in the world for Neurosciences or conditions of the nervous system, with a primary focus on the brain.
