Birmingham City University seeks survey responses from radiography workforce

Birmingham City University has been commissioned by the Society of Radiographers, with funding from the Workforce Training and Education Directorate NHS England, to deliver a UK wide project scoping for Therapeutic Radiography and Diagnostic Radiography profession specific needs in preceptorship.

The aim is to create recommendations which work with and complement the Health & Care Professions (HCPC) AHP Preceptorship Principles, and the NHS England Preceptorship Standards and Implementation framework.

The survey aims to identify the impact of preceptorship on the Radiography workforce, including preceptees, and determine preceptor needs, requirements and workload capacity. There is also a Service Manager survey to understand organisation preceptorship offer availability, structure, content and its impact on retention.

At the end of the survey, participants are asked if they are interested in joining a focused discussion group that aims to gather detail in more depth, and they can complete a separate online form to register their interest in attendance.

The project is looking for responses from:

  • Radiographers (practitioner level onwards) regardless of whether they have experience of undertaking a formal period of preceptorship – Radiographer survey link https://forms.office.com/e/qpA1qbc4Sy
