Radiotherapy UK has welcomed our latest event partner for this year’s Miles4Radiotherapy!
The team at Oncology Imaging Systems (OIS) will be getting active this summer and sponsoring our annual virtual challenge for the radiotherapy community, while raising crucial funds for our charity’s patient information work.
Steve Imber, CEO of OIS, said: “Miles4Radiotherapy is a fun and beneficial way of highlighting the great work of everybody associated with this vital part of cancer treatment.”
This year’s Miles4Radiotherapy challenge starts on July 1 and runs for two months. Anyone impacted by cancer can create a team or individual challenge and clock up the miles for sponsorship.
Miles4Radiotherapy 2025
Participants can choose how they move: walking, running, scooting, wheeling, sailing, horse-riding, and boxing are just some of the choices from previous years. Everyone who signs up will get a welcome pack, challenge merchandise, and exclusive access to the Race At Your Pace App.
This year the challenge aims to bring the radiotherapy community together to complete 160,000 miles over two months. Every mile represents a radiotherapy treatment course delivered in the UK by our highly skilled workforce and the many thousands of UK cancer patients seeking trusted, empowering information to help them navigate cancer.
Together, we hope to raise awareness, show solidarity, and fundraise to create more trusted PIF TICK accredited radiotherapy information for every adult UK cancer patient who needs it.
PIF TICK patient information
Sarah Quinlan MBE, director of Radiotherapy UK, said: “Back in 2023, this challenge raised thousands of pounds to help our small team make patient information requested by our focus groups.
“We now have our Patients and Families online hub launched, and filled with Phase 1 of accredited, trusted patient information and videos. Now our focus is to begin Phase 2 and continue making the next wave of resources that patients need to feel empowered and advocate for the best possible outcomes.
“With the support of OIS, we’re off to a great start with this mission!”
