Radiotherapy UK Ambassadors’ Network welcomes new members

Radiotherapy UK Ambassadors’ Network welcomes new members.

With a 2024 reboot and lots of interest at conferences this year, Radiotherapy UK is delighted to welcome 10 new professionals to our Ambassadors’ Network, growing the workforce team to more than 30 members.

Lynsey Rice is project manager for Radiotherapy UK, and coordinates the network, said: “As a charity we have three core aims: to campaign for fair access to radiotherapy, to support patients, and to advocate for the UK’s skilled workforce. Sadly, the radiotherapy workforce is often overlooked despite them delivering around 160.000 courses of treatment for cancer patients every year.

“My very first involvement with Radiotherapy UK (then Action Radiotherapy) was fundraising for the charity in the days of our ‘Running for Radiotherapy’ challenge, whilst working as a Therapeutic Radiographer in London. A group of us had the idea of creating a professional network to share best practice, and that is how it started.

“Over the years the network has evolved and I have seen what a difference we can make by standing together. All the network members bring a host of skills and interests in different areas, and we are also delighted to welcome students to the team so that we can ensure we represent the next generation coming through.”
