Huge news! Xiel will be our headline Ultra sponsor for this year’s Miles4Radiotherapy.
The team at Xiel, which is owned by MIS Healthcare, will be going all out this summer, in support of our growing patient information services.
Mark O’Herlihy, CEO of MIS Healthcare, said: “We are committed to supporting radiotherapy services in the UK, and sponsoring Miles4Radiotherapy is our way of helping patients get the information and support they need, through and beyond treatment.
“We’re looking forward to a summer of getting active and enjoying some outdoor time together as a team, all in a bid to raise funds and hit the 160,000mile target – a mile for every treatment course delivered in the UK each year.
“Supporting a small charity to do big things is a great fit for our values.”
Race at Your Pace for Miles4Radiotherapy
Sign-ups for this year’s Miles4Radiotherapy are now open. The challenge starts on July 1 and runs for two months. Anyone impacted by cancer can create a team or individual challenge and clock up the miles for sponsorship.
Participants choose how they move and how far: walking, running, scooting, wheeling, sailing, horse-riding, and swimming are just some of the choices from recent years. Everyone who signs up will get a welcome pack, challenge merchandise, and exclusive access to the Race at Your Pace App. The App is stuffed with great features and allows teams of different sizes to compete fairly. All while tracking progress on the leaderboard.
This year the challenge aims to bring the radiotherapy community together to complete 160,000 miles over two months. Every mile represents a radiotherapy treatment course delivered in the UK by our highly skilled workforce and the many thousands of UK cancer patients seeking trusted, empowering information to help them navigate cancer.
Xiel and Radiotherapy UK
Together, we hope to raise awareness, show solidarity, and fundraise to create more trusted PIF TICK accredited radiotherapy information for every adult UK cancer patient who needs it.
Sarah Quinlan MBE, director of Radiotherapy UK, said: “We are so excited to work with the team at Xiel and get our trainers on for this year’s challenge.
“It seems fitting that the fifth anniversary of our biggest fundraiser should welcome our very first Ultra sponsor! We’re growing as a charity and we’re growing the challenge to reflect that. Xiel and our other sponsors are a huge part of that and are supporting us to make this the best year yet for participants.”
