Miles4Radiotherapy week four – AHPs Active, free bingo card and Queen Kate

August marks #AHPsActive – an opportunity for therapeutic radiographers and the wider Allied Health Professional (AHP) community to stay active together throughout the summer.

AHPs are the third largest clinical workforce in the NHS and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do for people affected by cancer across the UK.

To mark the month, we’ve launched our #Miles4Radiotherapy Bingo Card. Have fun ticking off your wins, try something new and celebrate by shouting ‘HOUSE’ at the end of your run, walk or spin! 😉 Download your free Bingo card (here).

All hail Queen Kate and our Funky Fundraisers!

Our top fundraiser this week is Ambassador Kate Knapp-Tabbernor, with a total of £615. Kate took part in a Peloton-athon where she spent six and a half hours doing intense Peloton classes and clocking up a marvellous 70miles! An incredible achievement by Kate there, who says it was more tiring than a half marathon.

And a huge round of applause to Price Krispies Team, and Kiri and Aoife who are neck and neck in third place. Together our team of fundraisers have collected nearly £2,000 and that will make a huge difference for UK cancer patients seeking friendly, trustworthy resources.

Week Four Round-Up

The leaderboard continues to sizzle, with just a couple of points separating the top three teams, and some strong contenders snapping at their heels! We have 33% of the challenge in the bag and some very special mentions:

  • Gary and Liz put in the miles with a challenging 21mile hike along the Pennine Way, from Hebden Bridge to Colne, tackling blustery winds and drizzle along the way.
  • Priyesh was up before sunrise for a pre-work half marathon, sharing the route with deer and enjoying a stunning early morning sky.
  • Peter kicked off his holiday in style, setting a new half marathon PB and finishing second in his age category; what an outstanding achievement!
  • Mafalda headed to her local parkrun but discovered she wasn’t quite tall enough to be the groom… check out our socials to see why!
  • Hannah set off for Edinburgh with plenty of walking and sightseeing planned.

One More Chance to Grow Your Team

There’s still time to boost your team and earn even more miles!

New team members can join throughout August for just £10, making it the perfect opportunity to bring friends, family or colleagues on board for the second half of the challenge.
