Commenting on CRUK reports that 20,000 cancer deaths could be avoided by 2040, Professor Pat Price, co-founder of the #CatchUpWithCancer campaign said:

“Deadly delays in cancer treatment continue to needlessly steal lives in this country all because we don’t get the basics right in cancer. We welcome any voices from the community as solutions are urgently needed.

"Every cancer patient deserves to be diagnosed early, have access to the latest innovations and be treated on time! But there is a frightening new normal in UK cancer care where this does not happen.

"The tragic reality is that unless there is a strategy for cancer backed by investment in treatment capacity, this national health crisis will never be solved.”
