Health Inequalities week provided a great opportunity for Radiotherapy UK to spotlight the amazing work of our Ambassador, Naman Julka-Anderson.
Although Naman has been visiting the Uganda Cancer Institute, he did a prerecord for a presentation with the Patient Information Forum.
Naman spoke about his motivation for researching skin reactions for different skin tones after supporting a patient whose reaction was disregarded because of their black skin tone, his work to improve skin assessments and the consent process for all patients.

Our engagement lead, Alison Goulding, then explained how Naman’s research has been embedded in our Patients and Families online hub.
We then squeezed in a morning of facilitation training so we can make our patient engagement groups more effective and inclusive. The week concluded with a brilliant webinar with Sophie Randall from the Patient Information Forum and Helen Bennis from Ipsos discussing the rise of the patient and if healthcare has kept up.
