Radiaderm announced as latest #Miles4Radiotherapy event partner

Radiotherapy UK welcomes latest event partner for this year’s #Miles4Radiotherapy.

The team at Radiaderm will be lacing up their trainers ahead of this summer’s virtual challenge for the radiotherapy community in support of our #CatchUpWithCancer campaign.

Mark Lait, Chair of Radiaderm, said: “We are so pleased to be supporting this event and Radiotherapy UK’s tireless campaign to improve radiotherapy treatment throughout the UK. We see how important this cause is and we wish Radiotherapy UK every success with this year’s Miles4Radiotherapy and every event that follows.”

This year’s #Miles4Radiotherapy challenge starts on July 1, and welcomes anyone impacted by cancer to create a team or individual challenge and clock up the miles for sponsorship. Participants can choose how they move: walking, running, scooting, wheeling, sailing, horse-riding, and paddle-boarding are just some of the choices from previous years. Everyone taking part will get a welcome pack and snazzy multifunctional bandana: and a Thank You lanyard at the end of the event.

Every step taken and pound raised supports the UK’s longest and loudest campaign for cancer patients facing deadly treatment delays. #CatchUpWithCancer was co-founded by Radiotherapy UK in 2020 and has never stopped speaking out since. At present, around 4 in 10 people wait longer than the recommended 62-days for to start cancer treatment.

Radiaderm is devoted to providing innovative skin care solutions for patients undergoing radiotherapy. Mark added: “We know the importance of healthy and nourished skin during and after radiation therapy, and we’re dedicated to providing products that are safe, effective, and of the highest quality.”

Sarah Quinlan MBE, director of Radiotherapy UK, said: “This is a wonderful boost to our biggest annual fundraiser and we look forward to making those miles matter with the help of Radiaderm. Without #Miles4Radiotherapy we simply would not be able to campaign on behalf of the almost 4 in 10 cancer patients waiting too long for treatment.”
